Clearing desert land the right way
Clearing a lot in Southern Arizona is not the same as clearing one anywhere else. Saguaros, ironwoods, mesquites and other native plants are protected under state law and local ordinances, and most jurisdictions require a plan that says which plants stay, which are salvaged and which can be removed. G & J Excavating clears lots and sites to that plan, removes what can go, and leaves the site ready for grading and construction.

Native plant preservation
Pima County, Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley and Sahuarita each have native plant preservation requirements for development. Before clearing begins we review the approved plan or the owner’s inventory, flag protected plants, and clear around them. Plants marked for salvage are handled according to the plan. After clearing
Once the lot is cleared it is usually ready for site preparation, excavation and grading. We can scope those in the same estimate so the lot goes from raw desert to a ready pad without a gap between contractors.
