What a complete septic installation includes
- Tank excavation and placement. Excavating to the designed depth and setting the septic tank level on a prepared base.
- Leach field / drain field preparation. Excavating trenches or beds to the design dimensions and depth, placing aggregate or chamber systems, and installing distribution piping.
- Trenching for the building sewer line from the house to the tank and from the tank to the distribution system.
- Site grading related to the system. Finish grading over the tank and field so surface water drains away from the system.
- Replacement systems where an existing system has failed, including removal or abandonment of the old components as the permit requires.
- New construction septic systems installed in sequence with the pad, utilities and foundation.
Permits and inspections
Onsite wastewater systems in Pima County are permitted and inspected by the county. Every system is installed to the approved design and permit, and inspections happen at the stages the permit calls for. Why the excavation matters
A septic system is mostly an excavation project done to tight tolerances. Trench depth, level, spacing and the condition of the soil at the bottom of the excavation all affect how the system performs for the next twenty years. We treat it that way.
